Well, *that* will get your heart racing. Woke up to the sound of something getting one of our hens, knowing for sure that I locked them up. I get out there to find a HUGE possum trying to get one of the hens out a crack I accidentally made between the door and the door frame. I fixed the door a few days ago because it had gotten too sticky, but in the process, I managed to make it easy enough for this possum to pry his way in through the bottom corner. Anyway, the possum had no way to escape, so out came the silenced 10/22 TD. The hens are fine. Just a few extra feathers from the Barred Rock he grabbed are peppered around. A Titan Strap will take care of holding the door closed until I can fix it properly in the morning. Now, to try to get back to sleep after that nonsense...
