Well, thats it then! Not quite 41 years ( two months short ), but the after effects of my 2011 stroke finally caught up with me. I have been medically retired today, not through choice but sensible necessity. I will really miss all of the people I have worked with, the work itself but not the more recent politics brought about by finances. Despite some peoples views, I know this was due entirely to outside influences. I am grateful to everyone for their assistance, including in more recent years, everyone from ACCPO through to the amazing police staff I have worked with. My own team within CTW, Tracey Dunk Howells, the dog trainers and kennel staff all have my respect and thanks for their support and assistance over the years. I am really going to miss working with all of you. I must also thank Sarah Thornton, who not only sent me a personal letter but visited my home to say thank you. Finally my thanks to my wife Jane and my children Claire, Emma and Stephen for their unstinting support. Sorry its so long, but so is 41 years!!!
