Well thats tomorrow sorted. I have just been on the phone to Kayak Asia and booked a trip from alona beach to bohol bee farm. The price is a little dear at 1900 pesos although the package includes return transfer, coffee and snorkelling en route, lunch at the bee farm and a free photograph service. No other firm does this sea kayak route so i have thrown caution to the wind and will no doubt enjoy this unique experience. My reconnaissance trip out has been less than successful to say the least. Firstly the live band in the square is for Womans Month, not really my cup of tea. Then i rode miles only to find the river trip is identical to the one i did with the girls, so thats off the list. On arriving north of Loboc at the boat station to take me to Nuts Huts, the two young lads tried to fleece me by charging double the normal rate. I told them no way was i paying that and went by road instead. That decision nearly proved fatal. I turned off the bitumen onto a track that led into the jungle and before long i was struggling. If I had been on the back of a buffalo it would have been easier, quicker and safer. On getting to the entrance i noticed hundreds of steps going down further but before that my bike packed up. After twenty five minutes in the baking sun i managed to start it and made my way back up towards the main road only to fall off at 5 kph. I didnt hurt myself but cursed myself for being so stubborn by refusing to pay just 3 quid extra for the boat ride. Even a waterfall i thought of visiting has been converted into a hydro electric plant. Giving up i returned to my hotel to enjoy the wedding celebrations to discover it was all over, bugger. Also on my mind is the fact i am paying 400 pesos extra tomorrow for the transport. I wanted to make my own way but had no way of getting the bike back to the bee farm from alona beach. Then again i suppose it is only 6 quid, maybe I should just write it off and learn from my bad planning. My initial thought was to cancel altogether and re arrange my outing for when I am back in alona beach but there is a power cut due tomorrow and if i stay on land i will have little to do. Decisions, decisions. I am waiting for Naomi the hotel manager who is checking to see if we can find a solution and save me 25% of the cost. Live on tour and its nearly 3pm so shortly i will get off to Captain Dans, eat at next doors German restaurant a look forward to tonights gig. The headline act is a good Reggae band Greg tells me but he is uncertain as to the quality of the rest. It should be funny if nothing else.
