Well, the 150th anniversary of the civil wars end is approaching, - TopicsExpress

Well, the 150th anniversary of the civil wars end is approaching, I thought why not share a bit of Delaware military history that is rather obscure. Meet Alfred Nones, lieutenant of the 1st Del. veteran vols. and aide de camp to General Smythe, the LAST general officer killed in the war. Alfred carried his body back from Va. For burial in the Brandywine cemetery where he rests today. The medal on the far right is to Alfreds brother Jefferson Nones, of the 2nd US Artillery. These medals represent a small but major contribution to Delawares roll in the Civil war. Enjoy
