Well the elections are over and here we are again hopeful that something positive will come from the new results. Maybe, but count me in as a doubter. I suspect it could be better stated as hopefully the next few years will be less damaging than they could of been if results had of been different. Reading this morning I see our fellow Tennessean Lamar Alexander will take over the reins of the Senate committee over health care, education & pensions. Again maybe it wont be as bad as it could of been but how can we expect CAREER POLITICIANS to really be on our side? Politics is not meant to be a career. Every political position should carry TREM LIMITS! Thats a no brainer. Mr Alexander has amassed an absolute small to mid sized fortune while in office? How does that happen for so many of these guys?? Im all in favor of making $$$$ but get a job or start a business and do it. I envision politics as a chance to SERVE not be served. Personally Id be willing to do it for free and Im sure I have way less money than many of these guys. Make a statement Lamar and show you are for the people!!! Announce that your time spent in office now will be without compensation. Next announce that you will go to work reworking the ridiculous pensions you guys all get! Im not much of a believer in most of todays politicians so take this chance to show us how you are working for the people and not yourself!! I think all you uber wealthy guys serving should opt out of compensation and all programs paid for by the citizens. Thats showing leadership, thats making change, that could show the Republican Party is for the country and for the people. Choose to make some hard decisions and let the first ones affect you. You ask would I do it?? The answer would be YES I WOULD. I could go on about this stuff forever!!!
