Well, the last few days have been full of a hell of a lot of emotion, nostalgia and questions. When will we back? Will there be replacements? Is that the end? To be honest its too soon to tell as all my focus was on making last Fridays event as good as it was. The journey up until now with The Standards has been incredible and Ive created some undescribable memories. To say that I managed us though two Asia tours which included huge shows in Singapore, Philippines, Kuala Lumpur and Borneo, a tour of England including a performance on a BBC Introducing stage and for an Alan McGee club night, two separate visits to the States including four dates at SXSW and a blinding little festival in LA (my favourite memory), numerous TV performances including MTV, supporting and playing festivals with some of our heroes like The Charlatans, Ash, The Cribs and Thee Oh Sees, a shit ton of press from the likes of CNN, photo shoots, music videos, interviews, rehearsal schedules, sponsorship and more promotion than youve had hot dinners makes me feel extremely proud when I look back at what we have achieved over our seven years. To dive from a stage into the outstretched arms of thousands of people while they sing and go loopy to songs we wrote is the stuff dreams are made of and not much else comes close. For this matter, we cant rush anything in fear of tarnishing all that hard work and well only return with a new line up if it all sounds and feels as good as it always did. So, for now I just want to say thank you to each and every person we have ever played in front of, every vote of confidence that has ever been put our way and to my amazing band mates that put their trust in me to take us on this unforgettable experience. Kay Sera Sera. God speed and be good. - Matt
