Well, the thing is, I got a bit bored between Christmas and New Year. And so I thought I would pop into the studio to record a cover version of my favourite waltz tempo ballad, and offer it as a New Years prezzie for my all Facebook friends. Im sure you will recognise it (if you dont Im in trouble!). Now and old goat like me shouldnt be singing a young mans song like this ... especially since I am a natural bass and the original vocalist, Justin Hayward, is a tenor and a much better singer than me. But at least I havent developed an old mans voice like Paul McCartney these days! Anyway, here it is – in dedication to one of the most important influences in my early musical career. For all my Egyptology friends, ask yourself how many Egyptologists would dare expose themselves to ridicule like this?
