Well, this is interesting. Caulfield Junior College has only 2% of parents wanting their children to do Christian SRI. Now - what is ACCESS going to do? Will they respect the other 98% of students and tell the principal that common sense must prevail. Or will they still insist that this school conduct their program and make the non-SRI children sit outside the classroom while a handful of SRI participants stop teachers from teaching? What will Yossi say? Will he expect his UJEB program to go ahead with 23% students? If they go ahead with his...but not with the Christian program, will he accuse this principal of discrimination against Christians? (Yossi accused Brighton PS of discrimination of Jewish students when they chose to continue Christian SRI, but not Jewish, due to low numbers) “On the face of it, Brighton’s decision seems blatantly discriminatory to Jewish students as well as to students from other non-Christian denominations,” said Mr Goldfarb This could get very interesting. Lets see how selfish these groups can be. SPECIAL RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION SURVEY RESULTS The school received 155 responses [32% of school population; to SRI survey. Thank you to families that supported the school in this request. Of the 155 responses, the breakdown is as follows: 113 Judaism = 23.5% of students 30 Catholicism = 6% of students 11 Christianity = 2% of students Values = 1 student Your feedback to the survey will be discussed at the next meeting of School Council.
