Well, this is quite the twist for this week. I returned home this afternoon to find my back door kicked in and the house had been gone through. The reinforcements I did after last years break in didnt go far in keeping the thieves out. Time to replace the door and its reinforcements :( All that appears to be taken was my game system (which has been idle for many months; too busy playing life to power it up) and an obsolete laptop I havent powered up in years (hey thieves, good luck with it, its running XP, connect to the internet and youll be infected with malware in no time at all) Definitely unnerving to have this happen a second time and a hassle to deal with the repairs and upgrades. One hint to pass on. If thieves take the time to look through your place, theyll especially look through your bedroom because thats where people keep their jewelry and usually a stash of cash. Store this stuff in your kitchen and itll likely never be seen! The kitchen appears to be the only room that didnt get entered and drawers/doors opened. My jewelry wasnt interesting enough for them, cuff links and tuxedo buttons and sentimental little things. My horde of cash is in the kitchen, consisting of a jar of loose change sufficient to take the family out for a couple of happy meals at McDonalds. Now heres the happiness in this. I had mens group at my house tonight and the men helped me secure the back door until I can get repairs done. A friend who was coming over to give me some bodywork hung out for a couple of hours until the police arrived and helped me stay grounded. Melinda swung by to get eyes on me and make sure I felt her Heart. The guy who built my place gave me the number of his door guy and told me to let him know if I was told he couldnt come over soon to help me out. Makes me want to put a security sign up on my door that says, You will not find my wealth in the form of cash, or jewelry or other things that can be stolen from this house; my wealth resides in the many Hearts who Love and Care for me and watch over me fiercely, just as I have loved and cared and watched over them fiercely.
