Well, this thing just asked me where I have been. I answered (being nice and all), and it knocked me off the system as not acceptable. Repeat performance and rejected again. Here was my honest answer: 47 of 50 US states, Canada, Mexico, Guatamala, Panama, Suriname. Aruba, Curaçao, St. Maarten, St. John, Joost van Dyke and a few others, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Netherlands (haha), UK, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Belgium. France, Italy, Monaco, (and 10 min in Spain - waiting!!)), Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Germany, Czech Republic, Yugoslavia, Greece, Bulgaria, Hungary. Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Finland. Kyrgyzstan, Nepal. Out of those which ones did I like the very very best? (Not counting home)?, Austria, Nepal, Italy and Scotland. Next Haiti, Switzerland, UK, France, Yugoslavia (THAT dates me!!) and Portugal. And all the rest I love(d) just as much!! Has anyone seen my traveling shoes lately? Hmmm...must be in my suitcase! All I wish is to live long, fit and with it enough to take my grand children on a discovery, to spend more time in the above countries, and to spend time on more countries other than the above! Pack your backpacks, friends. You are waiting for the world! Never be concerned about languages. If you wish it, it will come! Respect, history, understanding, sharing, learning, religious tolerance and respect, art, music, folk art and food, small trails and major highways, being inside a book and stepping out, having something to say to your diary that brings tears to your eyes or laughter from deep inside. Friends you will never see again but who will be with you forever. Seeing that politics, like history, repeats itself, as do old people who still see the day of light. Phylosophize with unknown people on the train or in a little bar near a border you cant get over. Learn and teach to fight for what really matters. To others. Everything is relative and relatives (and relativity!) fill the world. When nothing else is left: pack up and go, and be grateful. Dont forget the book you always wanted to read again.
