Im reminded of the query: If a tree falls in the forest and theres no one there to hear it, does it make a sound? Of course, it makes a sound! The notion that a voice only consists of how those of us with working aural apparatuses register sound is, if youll forgive my mixing of sensory metaphors, myopic. [self-effacing chuckle] In fact, what most of us subjectively conceive of as sound is a sensory registering of the vibration of air molecules impelled by movement around us. Ive seen deaf people *dance* to the rhythms of such vibration. And, too, we may see and hear and *feel* the deaf and the non-deaf alike crying out to be understood and accepted. What we must do is *listen*, recalling that our literal ears are not our only means of Hearing. Indeed, multifarious peoples, particularly trans people, with literal and figurative voices, have been screaming themselves raw, yearning to be HEARD. #LaughCryBeLove
