Well today I am shocked and saddened. A gunman has shot dead two people in a WINZ office in Ashburton. I have been watching comments in various political group pages that I belong to, I am disgusted and appalled at some peoples remarks. I am a beneficiary and Ive felt humiliated, abused, etc etc by some WINZ staff. Ive come home from a WINZ meeting and crawled in to bed with severe depression. WINZ staff have guidelines to follow, some ease up on those guidelines, others take a harsh stand as if it is their money they are giving. Theirs is not an easy job by any means. What I am concerned about is that two people have died, for doing their job. My sincerest condolences to the families of those deceased. You may think Im weird but what pushed that gunman over the edge? I for one do not approve in any way that anyone should harm another human being. A lot of beneficiaries are starving, homeless, etc etc. Dont comment here and say...get a job...its not that simple for some. Beneficiaries also include pensioners who are going cold, without food, unable to afford to go to the doctor etc etc. So from now on when you think of a beneficiary think of your grandma or grandpa before you start bene bashing. So sad for those families of those two people who have been shot. This is NOT the New Zealand I grew up in. :( :(
