Well today was a full day of internet searches, calling insurance company, and calling doctors. First I was able to find out that the plastic surgeon I believe I want is an in-network provider as is the hospital he uses. That is a major plus. , bl So I called his office to schedule a consultation visit to confirm if the surgery I want and I are compatible. I found out that they dont do self referrals, only dr to dr referrals. So I called my oncologist and he said that he would send a reference and all needed records. Now to wait for the surgeon to get the records and then get back to me with a date for a consultation visit. I also got the go ahead to have my port removed one week after my last chemo. This was up in the air due to my blood clot in my right arm. Everyone is feeling more comfortable with it now. :-) I am so happy about this as my port has been hurting yesterday and today. I am really looking forward to my last chemo next week. We are planning a celebration during the treatment, to have a short prayer, anointing, and blessing. I pray that God blesses all the doctors and medicine have done but I am also praying for His healing hand to finish the cancer off completely. So I have a prayer request from EVERYONE. Please pray, send good wishes, healing thoughts that when they do the mastectomy surgery and look at everything under the microscope that I can skip the radiation that so far is scheduled. The radiation does damage the skin, blood vessels etc and it makes reconstruction more difficult.
