Well, we are all moved in at my parents house. They and Sarah are off to Gettysburg in the RV for a couple days. So, as I sit here in the quiet of the house I grew up in, I have time to think. 4 weeks and 12 hrs ago our lives were turned upside down. I am thankful no one was hurt. I am thankful the fire wasnt worse. I am greatful for all the firemen that got up in the middle of the night to save our house. Although the fire was contained to the 2nd floor. The damage smoke/water went all the way to our basement. Yes, our new basement :(. Our little Sarah has been hardest hit. She lost everything. All her toys and her new dressers. All the way to the basement where her playhouse under the steps. Her pretty new purple carpet was soaked, and is trash. We have wonderful people helping us through this. But, red tape (or something) is holding up progress. As I said, it is 4 weeks and 12 hrs after the fir. And nothing has begun. No demo, no cleanup, no construction. As every day passes we are more and more frustrated. Myself, I try to stay upbeat. But its hard. I miss my home. I want to go home :( at this point, who knows when that will be. If they would just get started. I dont understand the holdup. I Pray this week brings some progress.
