Well, we did it! First and foremost, thank you to each and every one of you for all your support and votes! Im blown away and so excited to be a part of our future over the next four years and beyond! Congratulations to each and every candidate who threw their hast into the ring! When I look towards the future, I am excited to continue to join forces with the candidates, each and every one of you brought something special and unique to the table! I have appreciated your openness and mentorship greatly and look forward to the team spirit ahead! Congrats to School Trustee candidates Alice Guss, Ian Kent (yay for team Kent) and Rick Price! Personally, I would like to thank my family big time! My wife Marcia, thank you for your love, relentless dedication, encouragement, inspiration and for being my campaign manager and biggest cheerleader! You are my rock. To my 5 year old twin boys Ryder & Hunter, thank you for letting Daddy work hard to help build a safe and healthy community for you to grow up in! My boys put up with joining me many times on the campaign trail, whether that was going door-to-door dropping off my campaign cards, attending meetings, hammering signs, being babysat a lot while my wife worked or I was attending all-candidate meetings and I forgot to pack their school lunches in their backpack this week because of the campaign chaos! I have survived this campaign on their hugs alone! Thank you to good friends for all your support and help! I would especially like to thank my good friend Les McDonald for shooting and editing every one of my campaign videos, to Brian Vincent for being relentless and helping me immensely with my campaign and for the hours he volunteered waiving my signs around! Thank you John Jervis and Mo Freitag! The list goes on and Im so sorry if I havent mentioned your name or if I have forgotten anyone! Thank you to the community of Squamish! Taking my signs down today, I walked around looking at our beautiful Squamish, breathing in the fresh air and being darn proud of this community! I look forward to what lies ahead and Im hoping, that our community can continue to rally together and stay keen and involved. Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart! Im excited to take a few days to recharge and look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work! Ill leave my long-winded note with this great quote: The future will require those of us in such positions to keep our eyes, ears and minds open. It will require us to listen and to involve, to coach and to develop, to enrich and to motivate, to risk and to credit, to care and to express concern, and to laugh - especially at ourselves.
