Well, we did it....we now have geneas! The purpose of adding this breed of fowl to our homestead was simple. We needed a watchdog around the property for rodents. And based on advice from you all, it was a barn cat or a geneas. Because of our cat, we are starting with geneas. And are they ever alarm sirens! Tomorrow I will post the video of how loud they truly get, even as keets! These guys have a job around the property, and will run wild throughout the day, but we are hoping to be able to train them to return to the coop in the evenings to roost. This group of 3 is about 3+ weeks old and are fully feathered. And I will mention that they are fast, and can fly, and are fast, and can fly....are you getting how I know this?! We currently do not know if they are male or female, but we will be able to tell soon enough. Much like the Cluckers, Duckers, Littles, and Misters, they will be getting a formal name.
