Well, we have been home for a couple days now. We are very happy to be here! The drive went as well as could be expected. But needless to say it took a couple days for us all to catch up on sleep. Brent drove through the night, working night shifts at his job came in very handy! And I drove most of the day. It wasnt like it used to be when I took road-trips as a kid. We used to sprawl out on the floor and any place we could get comfortable. These days they are bound to their car seats, which made it hard for them to sleep all night. But they really did a good job! As we entered into Florida and Charlee saw the first few palm trees, she knew she was home. She was excited and started counting how many she could see. Very cute. I had a little bit of hesitation bringing Brady home just because he wasnt feeling or acting as well as I hoped for. The last time he was on this dose of medication he was pretty much back to normal. I felt like we took a few steps backwards when they tried to wean him this time. The doctor said that he would start feeling better. I think being here has helped. The excitement of a new routine is always a good thing. Charlee has a little bit of a cold. She is feeling well and still has energy but since she has a runny nose and a cough, we are keeping her away from Brady. She is staying at my moms house with Bentley while Brady is at our house. Brady is a lot more fragile than her right now and we need to keep him as healthy as possible. He doesnt have the ability to fight off a virus the way she does. So again we are separated. My parents live 30 minutes from us. But at least we are in the same County this time. Making huge progress! I have been driving back and forth to see everyone. This is much easier to do in Florida with all the help I have, than it would have been in Memephis. Gotta love family help! We took Brady to the doctor yesterday. We would have brought both but didnt want the kids together. So Charlee will be going on Monday. Our St. Jude doctors wanted our doctor here to be familiar with our kids in case there is an emergency while we are home. Eventually we hope to be able to check in with our doctor here and not have to go to St. Jude for every check up. This wont be for a while, maybe in a few months down the road. The doctor said Brady looks really good. He was very happy to see us and so impressed with his blood counts compared to last time we were there! I kept him updated along the way, he was glad to see how well Brady was doing. The only thing we are going to watch with him is his blood pressure. Its going up again due to the meds. He will get it checked again on Monday. As for me, I had forgotten that there is life outside of the hospital. I feel like the world is racing and Im just trying to keep up. I took Bentley shopping yesterday! It took me a very long time because my brain had to switch gears! But I really enjoyed spending time with him. Brent worked very hard on finding us a new house and having it all organized and clean for when we came home. He is amazing and I love our place! Although as soon as we came home with a trailer of stuff from Memphis, it quickly made our clean house a disaster again. So that is what I am focusing on this week. We did not celebrate Halloween this year. There is just too much going on. We have to focus on keeping our kids healthy. It would be easy to just jump back into life again but my kids still need time to recover and heal. We did however get these beautiful costumes from St. Jude. Their marketing department had many of their patients come into the studio for portraits. They will use them next Halloween for advertisements and announcement purposes. It is surreal that we are home. I am enjoying the little things in life again like running errands and seeing Brent and Bentley everyday! This week I am going to focus on a daily routine for the kids and getting my house in order. Thank you all so much for your prayers as we were driving home. We are thankful for you! #enjoyingthelittlethings
