Well, we have reached that point. I no longer need to see or hear the furries ... Their mere presence in the room - behind me or to my flank - is enough to set off an alert in my head. Each of my three got me this morning. Sandy walked out without collar ajingle and stood off to my right side - and then of a moment I knew she was there. Soon, no less a surprise, Minksy came from the bedroom silently and sat under my right hip while I was at the desk. We had our walk and then breakfast. Just now, with my back to the door, I sensed I needed to turn - there was MegKitty, sitting by the screen door, staring at me in silence. I asked, You want to go outside? She stood up and turned to the door, waiting to be let out (with a short emphatic glance back over the shoulder). Cat has been here a year. Big Dog six months. Little Dog five months. No time at all really. I am trained. Good to have some discipline in my life.
