Well we held our AGM last Monday and welcomed three new members to the Committee - Dee, Emily & Emma - thanks for joining us girls :) We all want to thank everyone who has raised money for us which this last financial year was over £34,000, you are all amazing!! This has enabled us to buy many things this year...as well as the two new ventilators we have bought... - some more Neopuffs (so we now have one for each cot on the Unit) - 2 High Flow machines which, when they arrive, will be used for the babies on the Unit and will enable babies in regional units to transfer back to York sooner - 3 Symphony Breast Pumps to keep on the post-natal ward for SCBU mums to use to express their breast milk - a Perfect Prep for the making up of special milks - Apnoea Monitors, an Opthalmascope, a Cold Light, 2 more Heated Mattresses for the cots, Privacy Screens, many new Positioning Aids, a Camera Printer, bedding for the ICU cots and also for the bed-sits - and the continuous support in providing everything for the Sibling Diaries For the coming year we will continue to hire the Beach hut at Scarborough for the use of the families on SCBU; we will increase the support for families on the Unit so that in addition to what we already provide we plan to have ex-parents visiting the Unit to chat/support the current families and we will sign up to more sites like Just Giving so that as much money raised for us gets to us and isnt lost in fees.
