Well, what an evening. I dont really care if people dont like what I have to say in the next few lines because its my truth. Britain prides itself on its democracy. Part of that is the freedom to use speech. I am proud to be British, I am proud that the Royal British Legion carries an important message to the young in this country, that we should be proud of our armed services personnel, past and present; goodness knows, successive governments have done their utmost to undermine them under the guise of people pleasing political correctness. I cannot articulate the words to serve the right justice to what I have been a witness to last night, I have just been part of a celebration that makes Britain, in my opinion; which I am entitled to have, stand head and shoulders above any other nation in the world. If any one person could have walked out of St. Davids Hall, Cardiff without a smile must be inherently miserable! There were 14 male voice choirs merged into a 400+ combined force. They were absolutely breath-taking. The band of the Royal Welsh, great, in particular a solo bugler and a drum team with luminous kit whi9ch in the dark showed their perfection in synchronisation. A stunning performance from the Hywel Girls and Boys Choir too. Sophie Evans (BBC Wizard of Oz runner-up) did a Dylan/Adele Number to perfection and of course, Somewhere over the rainbow. Then Russell Watson brigs the house down performing with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Male Voice Choirs. AWESOME!! Hes alright for a kid from Salford, and he supports the local to there football team too!! Then the parade, all the Legion standard bearers, the services, the support services, cadets....even the police!....and the Chelsea Pensioners. Priceless memories as poppys fell from the roof during a perfectly observed 2 minutes silence. The Welsh National Anthem. I dont know what its about, but bloody hell, its slightly more passionate than the British one........but even that was respected at the opening of the evening. Great Britons. Be proud. We showed the world in 2012 during the Queens Diamond Jubilee and the GREATEST EVER Olympics. Lets not sell our sovereignty ANYMORE, WE ARE GREAT Britain!.................in my opinion (Whilst I am still allowed to have one!) kEEP THE FAITH AD x
