Well, where is all the money pledged in London, UK and Brusells, Belgium for Somalia? Is the resignation of Yussur Yusuf as Governor of Soma;i Central Bank is an excuse to withhold more than the two billion US pledged? Imagine, she was only two months in office and only spent ten days in Somalia? Why, now the UN increase the mandate of AMISOM troops when it is supposed to scale it down and replace them with UN Forces? Why, stil the neighboring countries are involved in AMISOM when UN Charter forbids them to sere in Somalia? Anyway, for economic recovery of Somalia it is easily achievable due to the country’s entrepreneurial human resources, vast untapped oil and gas and other mineral resources, abundant marine, livestock resources and arable land for food production etc. However, without proper vetting of the new members of parliament we will never recover or develop the country. Of course, US Oil Giants, BP and Elf should contribute to the countrys recovery and for at least 1 billion each since they have delayed the energy sector of the country. These companies have used Somalia as land bank where the farmer is paid and compensated for not producing his crops. It is only fair for them to compensate Somalia for lost revenue since they had the lease to develop but chose to sit on it which could have saved the country for loss of life, famine, exodus, hunger, poverty and deprivation and set back the countrys development. In my view, money recovered from these companies will amount to 8 billion and could be entrusted to UK US, EU and Turkey to manage and administer to meet the countrys demands on security, rebuilding the physical infrastructure, telecommunications, social, economic recovery, job creation and development of the country.
