Wellness Wednesday Hello One of a Kinders! Hope you are all feeling well! Today I certainly am. This is my third week of training with coach. No biggie, except it has taken me several weeks to get back my confidence to weight train after injury. I know today was the turning point; its the first time I walked into the gym and WANTED to train. There was no hesitation this time. No I cant do it. Instead I just went for it, and it felt good to be able to pick up some weights. I had to make a few lifestyle changes to get here. The biggest adjustment was to have a break from weight training - something Ive never done before, maybe because I never had to. This time my body made that choice for me, and it affected me mentally. I felt weak, helpless; it wasnt about not being able to lift weights, my body just couldnt do what I wanted it to. So after weeks of Pilates, massage and lots of remedial exercises (that I now do every day) I now appreciate my training even more and the fact that I no longer feel so defeated afterwards. Im still not 100% but starting from scratch has been a blessing. Its tested my patience, but its made me more aware of how my body moves and what I need to do to prevent this ever happening again.
