Welsh actress launches Wales’ Biggest Tea Party appeal Welsh actress, Susan Packer who is best known for playing the role of Tess Bateman in the BBC television series, Casualty, launched the campaign for Wales’ Biggest Tea Party this week. Businesses, schools and communities are encouraged to host Tea Parties this spring to raise funds for Welsh Hearts, the heart charity for Wales. Susan Packer said: “It’s an honour to support Welsh Hearts in their bid to raise awareness of heart conditions in Wales and fund life saving AEDs Defibrillators through-out Wales in our communities! Whilst I’m trying to eat healthy this year I enjoyed the delicious cakes Welsh Hearts treated me too, after all I must practise what I preach!” Suzanne continued: “I urge people to get behind this fun initiative to allow this fantastic charity to continue to do their good work. Every little helps and all funds raised in Wales are spent in Wales on Heart Research, defibrillator distribution, heart screening sessions and CPR training in secondary schools and organisations. The inaugural Welsh Hearts, Wales’ Biggest Tea Party month will take place from 1st – 31st March 2015. Charity Director Sharon Owen said: “Why not host a cake sale or throw an afternoon tea party with family and friends. You could even tag it onto an event you already have planned such as a quirky charity angle to baby shower or hen party celebration. With your support we can place this event firmly on the Wales’ social calendar and grow it year on year to raise vital funds for your local heart charity.” To register for Wales Biggest Tea Party email [email protected] or call 02920 786521 to request a fundraising pack which contains event ideas, invitations posters, stickers and balloons.
