Wendy and I jumped on the Batobus today. It is like a bus line on - TopicsExpress

Wendy and I jumped on the Batobus today. It is like a bus line on the river Seine. Its a great way to see the city and an easy way to travel. We saw lots of drama on our way to the Batobus. First of all an elderly woman wanting to jump in the river. She had the boatmen sidetracked trying to keep her from jumping in. She was relatively cooperative. But I think it was a good thing that the water police got there when they did. Poor little thing. We witnessed a break up between a couple. Wendy and me told the gal do not cry you can do better. We also saw a six-year-old boy having some sort of the emotional meltdown getting on the boat. Not sure what that was about but more than half of the family was also in tears. Our destination today was the area of the Eiffel Tower. This by far has been one of our most favorite neighborhoods. Just before you get to the base of the Eiffel Tower is a lovely neighborhood where it appears there are many apartments and locals living. We stopped at a local café and had Salad Nicoise for lunch. And of course a wonderful glass of wine. We then ambled through a local market on a closed off cobblestone street, for the fun of it when into a local grocery store. And then headed back towards the river. Oh yes, we had a chance to thank Air France for all their help. You will know what picture I mean!! :-) What a delightful afternoon. And, it started raining. Thats different. Actually cooled off a little bit, but not cold. And 50% of good luck today. Out of the blue my suitcase has arrived! However, I must admit, I feel somewhat guilty. Hopefully Wendys will be here tomorrow. More later. zQd
