Wenger: Santi can create something special Dear Arsenal supporter, It was good to see Santi Cazorla back to his best on Saturday. He scored two good goals at an important time in the match and it was our reward for going up a gear in the second half after a slightly one-paced first-half performance. Santi was out for a long time at the start of the season and had some injury problems. After that he had an ankle problem and so its only since mid-December that he has been able to return to his usual level. Its great to see that because he is one of the players who can create something special in a congested final third of the pitch, either through his passing or through his finishing. He is two-footed, and that makes him vey dangerous. Once Santi scored his goals the points looked safe and we saw the game out in a professional manner to keep another clean sheet. That is very encouraging. Lukas Podolski came off the bench on Saturday and almost scored our third goal with a shot that was tipped onto the post. He has a fantastic spirit and attitude and he showed that when he came on. Lukas will get games, he looks sharp now after a long time out with an injury. When he comes on he gives us something extra. First of all he occupies the flank well, and his left foot is intelligent and dangerous. Lukas can play up front too because, if you give him one chance, he will score. We are still top of the table and after 22 games we have 51 points. If you compare that to any other season you will see that it is one of our best records. Now we just have to continue that. We have a good solidarity in the group, we rotate the squad a bit and sometimes great players are on the bench. That shows that we have strength in depth. I am happy with our performances because we have been remarkably consistent. We had a difficult start with that defeat against Aston Villa and we have shown all kind of ingredients - both technically and mentally. Now we will focus on the FA Cup tie against Coventry on Friday. Its another good opportunity to take a step towards a trophy and we want to take it. Thanks for your support.
