Wenger: We showed nerve and resilience Dear Arsenal supporter, I was happy and relieved after the FA Cup semi-final because we were under pressure and we got exactly what I expected - a very difficult game. Wigan were impressive, well-organised, physically very strong and calm when they had the ball. They showed why they knocked Manchester City out and we needed to show character, resilience and nerve to go through. In a cup game like that, the difference between winning and losing is very, very small. It was important for our mentality to reach the final and hopefully that can help us find our form in the Premier League too. Lukasz Fabianski did very well in the penalty shoot-out. I think hes a good goalkeeper and he has shown that again. Even on the penalty they scored in normal time, he went the right way. Lukasz thinks and moves quickly and he put us in a good position at the end. I believed we would win the penalty shoot-out but as you know penalties can go either way. In the circumstances I felt we approached the situation in a very professional and calm way. Now our focus turns to a vital Premier League game against West Ham United. They are in a comfortable position, that means they can play without fear. So we know that we must have a good focus and a good tempo in our game. We have five league games left and our target is to win every one of them. Will we need 15 points to finish in the top four? Nobody knows, but that is our target. We have been in this situation before and I think we have the focus, the quality, the spirit and the desire to achieve what we want. Thanks for your support. Arsène Wenger
