Went for my pre-surgery assessment today and I am good to go for this Wednesday. Three hour surgery to start at 8:00 am for my herniated disks in my neck. Even though I have been waiting for over two years for this I cant wait for it to be completed. I will be having cervical disk surgery and anterior repair for disk prolapse. It will include small incisions in the front of my neck, partial or complete removal of 2 disks, bone graphs, plates & screws and a cage to reinforce the repair area. I will be off work for a minimum of 6 weeks and will not be able to lift any more than 5 lbs for 12 weeks. Even though there are a lot of risks with this any any type surgery the benefits far outweigh the negatives. Sure will be nice to have no more pain in my neck and arms and really looking forward to be able to sleep again.
