Went to Calicut with a different purpose.. But my beloved called me to Nerumkaithakottai near Calicut. A wonderful Sastha Khetram (one among the 108 Sasthalayam) is about two thousand years old. The temple is one among the most important Dharma Sastha temple of Malabar region. Bagawan is Swayambhoo here and his presence was really stunning to withstand. The temple is sitated abouve the hill and surprisingly there is a holy well - above the hill which provides the theertham to the temple. Its Ganga herself - who came to do abhishekam to the Lord. The water level never rises or comes down even during peak summer or autumn. The water in the well has never seen sunlight. There is a way to this under ground well inside the temple where the priest goes and collects the holy water. Nobody else is allowed to touch it. The beauty, elegance and the peacefulness of this area make us realise that we are at the abode of the supreme entity.
