Went to Smalleys Inn & Restaurant in Carmel for dinner. Wonderful meal, great service. If anybody has heard the stories surrounding this establishment, I have to say theyre true. Our phone batteries discharged in the restaurant, drained and discharged. I have never had that happen before. My iPhone is a little energy hog, but I had it on the charger all the way from Newburgh to Carmel. It died to the point that the whole phone needed to be rebooted. Wonderful place though. Owner is a lovely man. I wanted to take pictures of Carmel because my DAR Patriot ancestor was a soldier in Col. Henry Ludingtons Regiment of Dutchess County Militia in the American Revolution. He would have been one of the regiment members alerted by the very young and brave Sibyl Ludington, who made a courageous midnight ride on behalf of her father, to alert the Regiment that the British Army was burning nearby Danbury, CT. Very old and historical area, so Im sure that the whole place is likely haunted.
