Went to Walmart this evening and saw a Veteran. He was older and gray. Having to hang on to the buggy to hold himself up. I proudly told him thank you for his services! I almost had tears in my eyes as he told me that he flew on a B16. He was the radio operator. He told me that his niece works for an airport and that some proud military servicemen were going to be flying a B16. They were going to be taking 30 Veterans for a flight! His niece called her friend that was flying the aircraft and told him that she knew a Veteran and would he please let her know if he had room for one more. The man himself called the gentleman and asked if he was ready for another flight! He said he would love it! The man told him he had one last seat and it was his. The niece and her family were so porud! He told me that he went and got on the aircraft. They put him in the radio room since he was a radio operator. They took a 30 minute flight. His eyes were gleaming as he told me of his spectacular ride! I again told him thank you for his services and he was so thankful. He said not many people have told him thank you and it meant a lot to him. I have always tried to teach the kids to say thank you to anyone who has EVER served in our military. I have never been Im this mans shoes and Im sure it does mean a lot to get a simple thank you. Think about it for a moment; he could have been killed serving his country. And to think that he wouldve gladly given his life for us. The least we could do is tell him we appreciate him! So if you see a Veteran, please stop and say thank you! Im almost c er tain it would make their day! And it doesnt have to be just on Veterans Day! You could do this every single day for the rest of your life. I wonder how many smiles you could bring to their faces! GOD BLESS OUR VETS AND ALL MILITARY FORCES. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
