Went to a wedding yesterday at a small hall in Derbyshire. Lovely venue etc but superb food and excellent wine. Didnt think it was the done thing to take photos of the food at a wedding, but the starter was either ravioli filled with spinach & ricotta or sea bass with vegetable spaghetti (courgette & carrots in a warm vinaigrette, then I had roast beef - but it was a piece of melt-in-the-mouth fillet plus a tower of marinaded, sheredded slow-cooked shin with potato rosti on the top and the usual potatoes & veg, then dessert was fruit salad (boring but beautifully presented!) or chocolate sable which wasnt quite what I was expecting as it was a piece of shorbread, with chocolate mousse piped on top, covered with a layer of chocolate with a multi-coloured bar code pattern! The wines were my favourite - Malbec and Marlborough. Oh, and the bride looked gorgeous too, lol.
