Went to an amazing 500-strong meeting at Shoreditch Town Hall yesterday to mark the first anniversary of Edward Snowdens heroic whistleblowing on the NSA, GCHQ and dozens of other vile, corrupt spook agencies worldwide. After a video welcome from Stephen Fry, we had contributions from a impressive line of speakers including Alan Rusbridger, Shami Chakrabati, Jimmy Wales, Bruce Schneier, Duncan Campbell, Ross Anderson and many others. It was especially gratifying to see that most people in the audience were in their 20s and 30s. Ive been banging on about this stuff and boring my greying contemporaries rigid for decades, so its fantastic to learn that I was just ahead of my time!
