Went to help a local owner load their lovely (big!) horse to go to the vets today. Perhaps the thing that surprises me most is when owners tell me of previous help theyve had loading. Can I just suggest that if you pay for help (or even if its free) if within a short time (make that ANY length of time) the helper has lost their temper, used swear words describing your horse and generally shown themselves to be an idiot - you can be certain they are going to 1. make the horse a lot worse 2. get someone injured (and then blame the horse). Its really difficult for owners in these circumstances but you ARE entitled to say Excuse me Id like you to STEP AWAY from the horse now please ... Dont you think thats fair???
