Went to see the world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra last night. Its music that makes it nearly impossible to feel unhappy. Bit of an . . . er . . . older crowd, though. When the female singer belted out “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and the line, “Those from 1 to 92,” you could feel the discomfort since most of the audience was older than that age range and felt left out of the sentiment. Its unfortunate that younger people dont go out and support this wonderful music more. It shouldnt die out. Several members of the band appeared to be in their early 20s, so at least there are musicians who are drawn to it. Most people know Etta James version of this song, but it long predates her. Last night we were treated to hearing it done by Natalie Angst, an immensely talented young vocalist. I was disappointed that they didnt do two of my favorites: “Next Stop Pottersville” and” “Honeysuckle Jump,” but what can you do? https://youtube/watch?v=J9LJUCPZojM
