Went to the 9/11 museum yesterday. Let me tell you, that is some very difficult stuff to see. I was emotionally exhausted afterwards. I simply cannot imagine the horror. Mangled wreckage, audio of last voicemails, personal affects recovered of those lost--inconceivable terror those people felt. One thing that struck me as I stood before thousands of pictures of those lost was that while our great nation may divided on issues about the police, that day they were heroes who exemplified the spirit of police work. They protected and served and put their lives on the line regardless of the color of the victim. It also reminded me that as a nation we can come together in times of great challenge. We can persevere, rebuild, and be stronger than before. I pray our country can heal itself again and be stronger than ever.
