Went to the Forum and Palatine Hill today. Will upload those pictures. We found the spy route to the entrance which we loved! Our apartment sits right below Palatine Hill. Again, we love this location as it is out of the tourist area and in a residential section. Our apartment runs $125/dollars a night which is a bargain in Rome. Its so nice to have 5 to 6 hundred square feet to live in plus a terrace. After the Forum we went to lunch off the beaten track. No places with American menus for moi. We were the only Americans in a place full of Italians and ate what they had on their small, hand written menu. I had a piece of roasted pork rolled over various vegetables, roasted potatoes, and a cauliflower au gratin which kicks butt when compared to Mac and cheese! Mike had the lasagna forno which I sampled and it was out of this world good. Mine was excellent too and cost 13 euros. Ill attach a picture of that too. Tonight I went to the deli around the corner and ordered 1/2 kilo of sweet ham and a 1/4 kilo of turkey. Well I have enough to feed an army! So much for my understanding of metrics! It was very overcast today with winds at 25 miles per hour. Rain tonight. High around 69 and lows around 55. This is the perfect time of year to visit! Feet not hurting so bad today- guess they are getting use to walking so much! One of the pics was taken from Palatine Hill looking over our apartment.
