Were appealing for information after four rabbits were abandoned in the small village of Ardwell in Dumfries and Galloway. Three of the rabbits were rescued by locals but unfortunately a fourth rabbit ran away and hasnt been found. The three rabbits, two females and one male, are now in the care of Dunragit Kennels in Stranraer, where they have been named George, Mildred and Roper. We have asked locals to contact us if they see the fourth rabbit as we are concerned for its welfare. Domestic rabbits dont have the same survival skills as wild rabbits and we are worried it may die from starvation, come to harm on a road or be attacked by another animal. The three rabbits rescued all have slightly overgrown nails but other than this are in good condition. We are keen to trace the person responsible for this abandonment and we would urge anyone with information to call our Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999. scottishspca.org/news/1764_rabbits-abandoned-in-ardwell
