Were giving away some screenless family time: Ticket to Ride - TopicsExpress

Were giving away some screenless family time: Ticket to Ride anyone? Ever wondered how to get kids off screens and actually spending time together as a family? Whats more, how do you get them all to enjoy doing the same thing? Impossible? Think again... Two words: Board Games. Ive hated board games for most of my life. Monopoly makes me wince, Triv makes me feel stupid, and the Game of Life in my humble opinion, isnt. So when my older brother recently suggested we play a board game with all the cousins at a family gathering, I reluctantly agreed. But then I discovered something which has been, literally, game-changing for my family. Modern board games are amazingly good fun. Seriously. In fact, weve now started having Saturday night games nights with no screens, everyone involved, and everyone loves it: Me, my wife, Mr 11 (playstation fiend) and Mr 14 (minecraft fiend). It turns out you really can find fun stuff to do together as a family that doesnt involve screens. In order to help bring screenless family time to more people Ive been given a copy of Ticket to Ride to give away to one lucky family by the good folks at Seriously Board (https://facebook/seriouslyboard). Details of how to win a copy for your family are at the bottom, but first let me tell you about the game. We played Ticket to Ride for the first time a few weeks ago, and its seriously good fun. Essentially you have to build railway lines across Europe and connect up as many destinations as you can to score points. Its a curiously addictive mixture of strategy, skill, and luck. Once you get your head round the very simple rules this game is a whole lot of fun. In fact if youre new to the world of modern board games then Ticket to Ride is a great place to start. The game is fast, and fun because you can both build your own lines, and try and mess up other peoples as well. We gave this a solid 4.5 out of 5. If youd like to win a copy of Ticket to Ride simply leave a post here before next Thursday night (14th August) and Ill randomly choose a winner from the posts and let everyone know on Friday. The only condition is that you have to have a New Zealand postal address to send the game to (and it has to be a physical address, not a PO Box). Thanks to Seriously Board... and good luck. It really is a very cool game. seriouslyboard.co.nz/games/ticket-to-ride-europe/?utm_source=promo&utm_medium=giveaway&utm_campaign=latta
