We might also brainstorm some initial ideas ahead of time to give each working group a kick start. Heres the ideas weve collected so far. Remember, these are just an initial starting point. So pllease feel free to add more, either in the comments below or at tomorrows gathering. 1. Immediate, Emergency Relief: Alyssa & Kelly A food drive, a fundraising benefit at a Latino nightclub in Springdale, another backpack drive? 2. Educational Outreach: Gladys & Nancy Work with the Equality Center in getting real diversity training in Fayetteville schools, educational outreach at the Farmers Market, a Dialogue Dinner with those who oppose immigration? 3. Creative Arts Outreach: Aron & Don An interactive theater performance, a kids art project, possibly involving ONF and their Coop Kids? 4. Community Outreach: Dawn & Alexander Bringing the various faith communities to the table, which other community groups should be involved? 5. Long Term/Larger Picture Issues: Fernando How do we educate ourselves and each other on the immigration issues and U.S. foreign policy decisions that have help create this refugee crises? How can we begin to address those issues and policies in meaningful ways?
