Were in Yorkshire..!! A good bumbling day..had a right variety of weathers today, at one point it was positively spring-like..!! Thats blown it..!! Some 50 miles covered..and Annie wasnt for stopping..!!!! And after all the thousands of miles weve covered, we found our steepest hill thus far..1:5..!!! Coming out of Darley Dale.. Annie took it all in her stride, despite the traffic squeezing by.. In Bolsover, we even overtook a cyclist, in 2nd gear, on another steep incline up past the castle..!! We have now arrived..at the Crown Inn at Barnburgh..by invitation, no less..!! Dear old Karl Williams..whos been following us from the beginning..and been dangling the offer of steak pie and pint(s)..couldnt let him down.. AND we see Noah (his 4yr old, going on 40yr old, grandson) tomorrow..!!!! Karls been doing sterling work spreading the message..for Tom Bowdidge Foundation and UNICEF..especially in the pub..!!! Im known as Mr Bumble..!! Thank you Karl..great meeting you.. And to your friend, Richard, for allowing us to pitch up for the night (or two..!!), sheltered up by a barn, out of the stormy winds..and with electricity..!! Yeeha..!! Sadly and rather conveniently next door to the hostelry..heading there shortly.. Its hit me tonight..Im exhausted..again.. !! And easy day tomorrow, me thinks..before resuming on Sunday.. I think I was confused last month..I said wed been on the road for 5 months..having a moment..!! Id counted the prep time in it..and so, today, it is genuinely 5 months since we left John OGroats..honest..!!! Hope youre having a grand evening..this blowy Friday night..
