Were just past the halfway mark of the week & praying it has been a blessed & fruitful one for everybody so far! Have you been practicing saying Yes to the GOD-ideas and No to (even the good) ones which dont fit the vision/season-of-life The LORD has given or placed you in? Maybe youre still considering what it means to be in a Kairos Moment or how to discern when those moments have arisen. As I mentioned yesterday, I want to offer a few assessment tools for knowing when we are in a special, spiritually-charged period of GODs favor. The following list is not perfect or complete & it is tailored more toward groups/organizations, but I do believe it can still be helpful for individuals... *Does the situation possesses the alignment of: -Conviction (i.e. -belief/investment in the good idea & a willingness to do what it takes to accomplish the goal of the idea) -Would the goal/project align with the character of Christ & the ethics of scripture? -Would the effort meet a need? -Is there an opportunity to act? -Do those who would spearhead the endeavor possess the discipline to see it through well/effectively? -Are the resources necessary available (or can they be reasonably obtained)? -Is the idea being affirmed & confirmed by other believers? -Is it so crazy that it just might work? +This last one is important because it takes into account the need to leave room for GOD to act -to make up the difference between what we have & what we lack. It also acknowledges that GOD/Kairos Moments will often be counter-cultural & only make perfect sense in light of faith & biblical values. Thats the abbreviated version. May we all be attuned to the seasons and circumstances where The LORD is uniquely breaking-into our lives & empowering us to act.
