Were thinking about breakfast this morning. Many of our vendors - TopicsExpress

Were thinking about breakfast this morning. Many of our vendors sell eggs, breakfast meats, and vegetables and cheeses - perfect for making omelets. We will focus on them in the coming weeks. Today we want to tell you about three vendors who offer more specialized breakfast treats. Sam Williams, aka The Pancake Lady and My Friend Who Loves to Cook, loved her husbands Sunday morning tradition of making pancakes for the family. She was concerned, however, about the health factor, so together they began experimenting with mixing whole-grain flours and then milling bulk grains in a one-cup coffee grinder. The recipe was perfected, and Sam began selling her Sunday Morning Pancakes mix. Sam strives to be a positive force in her local food system, so her mix includes nine freshly milled, high quality and locally-sourced organic grains. She uses a letterpress company run by a neighborhood friend for her packaging, and her primary source of distribution is farmers markets. We love the pancakes, and we think once you try them, they will be a Sunday morning tradition at your house too! Visit Sam at booth #35. Cortney and Gary started growing heirloom tomatoes and peppers, and as their garden grew, they found that they had more than they could consume. They began making jams and jellies and started giving their strawberry-jalapeno jam, peach-habanero jam, and six-pepper jelly as gifts. They received an overwhelming response, which led them to form the Nashville Jam Co. The jams and jellies can be found at local farmers markets throughout the Nashville area and in stores from New York to Texas! Even though their business has grown, Cortney and Gary still make every batch, using only real sugar, fruit, and lemon juice. You will not find high fructose corn syrup, no juice concentrates, or anything artificial in their products. In addition to the above named jams and jellies, their jams also include such flavors as strawberry, blackberry, blueberry, and peach. They are great on toast, biscuits, or try them on your pancakes! Nashville Jam Co. can be found at booth #65. If youre looking for something quick that can be used in a variety of ways, try Auntie Ts Granola. All the granola is made from scratch using the freshest ingredients and no additives or preservatives. One of our favorite ways to use the granola is to make a breakfast parfait. Layer granola, Greek yogurt and fresh, in-season fruit and drizzle with honey, purchased from one of our vendors, for a wonderful breakfast treat. The granolas come in a variety of flavors, including Cranberry-Mac, Nutty Buddy, and Cranberry-Orange. Auntie Ts also offers trail mixes in flavors including Chocolate Crunch, Bananarama, and their newest mix, Smore Please. Youd better buy more than one package though because if youre like us, once you start on a bag, you wont stop until its all gone! Visit Auntie Ts Granola at booth #52. Its going to be a hot one today, but we know that wont keep you away from the Market. Remember, we offer a free, air-conditioned shuttle service that runs continuously between the Market, the Music City Star parking lot, and the Donelson Plaza parking lot. We look forward to seeing you!
