Were through the first two rounds of the tourney, and only (16) - TopicsExpress

Were through the first two rounds of the tourney, and only (16) teams remain, with their assignees. And, as usual, just when you think I got it!! I got it!!, well, you aint got it. Sunday was filled with some great (depending, of course, on your perspective) action. The opening game had Stanford (Bill lutz) as a six and a half point dog to might Kansas (Al & Mike). Stanford didnt quite understand that they were supposed to lose, and they didnt, as they sent the the Jayhawks packing with a 60-57 win, and sent a lot of bracket sheets to the blue bin. Wichita State (Tom Lovell) was a 4.5-point favorite in a one-seed vs eight-seed see-saw matchup against Kentucky (Sobo). Kentucky bounced the unbeaten Shockers, 78-76. Tough time to lose your first game. Thanks for playing, Tom. Pat Breen had N. Carolina and Mercer in consecutive game underdogs against Bill Michalsiks Iowa St. (-1.5) and Tennessee (-8.5). Gee, I just couldnt beat that guy, and Bills teams advance, Iowa st. squeaking by 85-83, and Tennessee asserting themsemselves as a real contender as they beat the Mercer Bears easily, 83-63. UCLA (Stefan Marsh) got it done, squashing SF Austin (Kris Hughes), 77-60, to set up and interesting match to see which team will get to the money round after their next game. As Stefan also has Florida, his next contest will have him playing with him self in a good-news bad-news scenario on Thursday. Best wishes to the ailing Zeke - get better soon. Zeke had Creghton and can now concentrate on getting out of the hospital instead of being distracted by this pool. Baylor (Hep) removed Creighton for the field, beating them easily, 85-65. Glenn Warren is off on vacation, and so go his Memphis five, as the Virginia Cavs (Mike Sylvia) won 78-60. Mike inherited Virginia after the first round setting up another interesting match on Friday. His Cavs meet Michigan St., held by future in-law papa, Dean Williamson. Nothing is worse than running a pool that youve been eliminated from. That hasnt happened, yet, as Arizona( picked up by Pat Breen in the Weber St. cover) eliminates Gonzaga and last years winner BamBam from contention. This will set up a match that might allow me to avenge my daughters elimination in Thursday match against San Diego St, held by the evil, nefarious Bill Lutz. Ill give you all line information the day of your games One more win, and youre in the $$!! Have a great week!
