REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION : Basic R425 qualification ( i e diploma/ degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SAN C) as Professional Nurse. REGISTRATION WITH A PROFESSIONAL COUNCIL: Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse with updated licence to practice EXPERIENCE: GRADE 2 A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC. GRADE 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse. INHERENT REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB: Valid drivers licence Willingness to work shifts. weekends and on Public holidays and to be on standby and availability during disasters. COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS): Ability to work independently and to think logically Computer literacy (MS Off ice. GroupWise and PowerPoint) w ill be tested Personnel management skill s, e.g supervision and discipline Presentation skills Good communication skills (verbal and written) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. DUTIES (KEY RESULT AREAS/OUTPUTS): Facilitate the orientation/induction programmes and clinical accompaniment/mentorship programmes including assessment. Identify, plan and implement nurse training programmes to meet the general nurse learning needs Co-ordinate clinical learning exposure of students between college and clinical areas Liaise wit h HRD component re: generic training Provision of support to Nursing Services including representation at delegated meetings Ensure professional growth/ ethical standards and self-development of nursing staff and support research It w ill be mandatory that the successful candidate rendered 60% clinical work within wards and 40% student facilitation.
