Weve got two fundraisrs of the week this week - Chris and Mick, who have raised over £2,500 for us by cycling around the 15 football clubs in Yorkshire with a group of friends. Speaking about how M.E. has affected a close family friend, Chris said: This disease has taken our friend away from her family too often, stopped her from enjoying too many special times and has meant she knows far too many medical staff personally! She is one of the bravest ladies we know and hopefully we can raise plenty of funds for the charity that supports her and her amazing family, as well as thousands of others with this disease. Mick, whos mum has been affected by the illness for over 20 years, added: During these years we have seen RMam sleep on the sofas in the living room because she could not get upstairs. She has missed Christmas day, birthdays, weddings, christenings and funerals due to this awful illness and weeks and weeks in hospital. Over the years we have been called in to the hospital to say our goodbyes but still RMam aka Rocky or so she calls her self is still here and not only still here she is ALWAYS smiling and putting others first. RMam is a true legend and one of the hardest srtongest woman i have ever met and i am truly proud to call her my mam. This is why i have decided to try and raise awareness of this awfull illness last year we did a charity bike ride around london doing all professional football clubs including Wembley 102 miles to be exact.
