Weve had a bit of a setback. Early yesterday morning, Jeff got suddenly very short of breath, so we came back to the ER. He has a PE, or blood clot in his new lung. It happens, and it treatable. Should not affect his new lung after it goes away in 4-6 weeks. Dr Scheinien saw him last night. That man puts me at easy with just his presence, so it was that much better when HE considered this just a bump in the road. Today Jeff will have a filter placed in his main blood vessel to eliminate trouble from any additional clots. Then, to a regular room tomorrow to be sure he maintains his oxygen levels at home. He will be here at least until first part of next week. I am scheduled to come home and work for a few days. As conflicted as I am about leaving Jeff, I do have the utmost confidence in this staff. Then, just as I was needing a bit more reassurance, our nurse Michelle today invited me to attend interdisciplinary rounds for Jeff. What a team! I feel much better :) Somehow I think nurses just know what other nurses need :)
