Weve had a few emails and enquiries of late regarding workshops during the day, or on other nights. They have prompted me to write this post so that people have a better understanding of #TheArtsHub and how we run. First and foremost, we are completely volunteer run and led. Nobody at #TheArtsHub receives any pay whatsoever. Paul & Jason founded Performance Plaza in 2005, and have run it as a non-profit organization since then. We handle pretty much everything, from making sure the building is suitable for purpose, to paying all the bills and keeping things stocked up, not to mention facilitating workshops. Deb joined us this year and runs the arts and crafts side of what we do. All three of us are in full time day jobs. Paul & Jason also run a national touring theatre company, and a local cycle club. We give pretty much all we can right now, time wise, but will probably end up devoting more time to workshops in the new year. Honestly folks, we already do as much as we can, and this is why we only have evening workshops. We also have to have age limits due to legal/insurance regulations. I hope this gives you all a better understanding. We all do this because we enjoy skill sharing, and the smiles on faces are the only payment we need. Many Thanks. Paul.
