Weve received the latest report from the Kenya board. See below. Also I spoke with Nick at The Vibrant Village Foundation. Several of our staff are taking advantage of VVs teacher training. Nick also cites our Academy as one of the best schools in the area and that we are doing really well! Lastly, thanks to an amazing sponsor, we now have brand new plates, cups and spoons (as well as some new, larger pots for cooking all the food)! No more eating with rulers. Thank you! NESTRESCUE CENTER – BISHOP MUNDIA ACADEMY REPORT FOR OCTOBER – NOVEMBER THE SCHOOL PROGRESS The academic program of the school progressed on well. The end-term III results have posted an improvement compared to second terms results. Teachers need to be commended for their tireless efforts in uplifting the academic standards of the school. However, there is still room for better performance. The school has not been participation in co-curricular activities against other schools due to lack of funds to sponsor them. We hope in future they will venture in selected activities. The official closing of the school to end the academic year 2014 was 14th November 2014. The new academic year for 2015 will start on 5th January 2015. RECRUITMENT The school is on the positive trend. Next year we are having class seven. There is therefore need to recruit a teacher. INFRASTRUCTURE We critically need a class to accommodate standard seven. There is a block which has been started which has two classrooms. It is still at the foundation level. The block was meant to accommodate class seven and transfer one of the two classes which are in Mrs. Fanny’s compound to the school compound. We pray that means and ways open to avoid embarrassment. FEEDING PROGRAMME Now that the pupils have closed, we shall resume feeding them from January. The funds for feeding programme have been included on the budget such that incase we shall do construction in December, we can use the money to feed the construction workers. FARM The beans could have done well if the birds would not have destroyed them. Nevertheless we managed to get three quarters of the 90 Kg sack from the farm. The maize plant are still young we are praying the rain do not disappear before the crops mature.
