Weve seen an increase in recent years in Takfir rhetorics (Muslims - TopicsExpress

Weve seen an increase in recent years in Takfir rhetorics (Muslims labelling each other with apostasy) out of sheer ignorance and irresponsibility. The disastrous ramifications are beyond clear. Muslims in the MENA region are spilling their fellow Muslims blood. Killing is a norm, and adopted as a panacea to their political, social and economic crises. In other parts of the world, dilettantes spend their lifes worth arguing amongst themselves over petty archaic issues, neglecting progress, neglecting reforms, neglecting critical matters that need scholastic attention. etc etc etc -Excommunication (takfir/charging a Muslim with apostasy) is one of the major sins that led to the disintegration of communities and the spread of Fitna -Excommunication, spilling of (innocent) blood and desecration of lawful properties are forms of worldly destructions that eradicate the objectives of Sharia from their roots The Fatwa Council asserted that those (mentioned) excommunicators are academically unqualified and mentally unequipped, and that they are unaware of the dangers posed by these rulings which will eventually lead to the disintegration of communities and the spread of Fitna amongst the people. The Fatwa Council also illustrated that the act of excommunicating Muslims and the Ahlu Al-Qiblah (People of the Qiblah in prayers) per se, without any of the required proper authorities and methodologies, is in itself, a major sin with dangerous ramifications. Accordingly, both the Quran and Prophetic Traditions have successively warned against and rebuked the act of excommunication. In Surah An-Nisa (for example), verse 94: [[O you who have believed, when you go forth [to fight] in the cause of Allah , investigate; and do not say to one who gives you [a greeting of] peace You are not a believer, aspiring for the goods of worldly life; for with Allah are many acquisitions. You [yourselves] were like that before; then Allah conferred His favor upon you, so investigate. Indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.]] In the Prophetic Traditions, (on the other hand, some out of the many reiterations on the stance against excommunication, for example); He who labels a Believer with apostasy is akin to killing him, If a man says to his (Muslim) Brother: O you Disbeliever/Apostate!, one, out of the two, had (thus) brought it (kufr) upon himself. And narrated by At-Tabrani on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Umar (May Allah Be Pleased with them both): Restraint yourself against (committing any wrongdoings upon) Ahlu Laa ilaaha illAllah (the People that proclaimed that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah), do not excommunicate them by (their mere acts of) sins..He who excommunicates Ahlu Laa ilaaha illAllah is nearer to disbelief/apostasy (than the other). (Extract from the recent edict issued by the Fatwa Council of Egypt, in response to those who excommunicate security personnels and forbade prayers for those killed whilst on duty) [Translated by Public Relations | PERKEMAS]
