Weve taken the life of an individual, it doesnt get more serious than that. Medford Police shot somebody today in a church parking lot, a few blocks from where I once lived. The chief says the individual fired upon them first with a shotgun. An independent investigation is underway (i.e. not by the MPD) and well find out more in the days to come. Whether you believe Tim George or not about how this man died and whether the shooting was in self-defense, the level of maturity and open disclosure displayed here is something the #Ferguson PDs of the land should take note of. As a side note, the local media could teach #HumboldtCounty journalists a thing or two by being on-the-ball and professional enough to just post the bloody press conference video without all the genuflecting and self-censorship.
